Ritesh Kumar is a Senior Partner at Bahuguna Law Associates, with over 27 years of experience specializing in litigation and arbitration across diverse sectors, including financial services, real estate, power, aviation, and retail. He has a proven track record of leading complex and high-value legal disputes before a variety of forums, including the Supreme Court, High Courts, Arbitration Tribunals, and Appellate Tribunals. His expertise lies in managing multi-jurisdictional litigation, providing strategic legal counsel, and executing comprehensive litigation strategies that protect and advance his clients’ interests.
Prior to joining Bahuguna Law Associates, Ritesh served as President and General Counsel, Dispute Resolution and Litigation at Indiabulls Group, where he led the Group’s litigation strategy. He was instrumental in handling a wide range of critical legal matters, including arbitrations, public interest litigations, criminal cases, and disputes under various legal frameworks such as the SARFAESI Act and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. Ritesh successfully represented the organization in complex litigations, defending the company and its top management in significant criminal matters, as well as overseeing high-profile cases related to corporate borrowers and regulatory compliance.
Ritesh has a deep specialization in arbitration, with significant experience in both domestic and international arbitration proceedings. He has represented clients in major arbitration cases governed by the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996, and handled disputes under the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). His experience spans a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, energy, financial services, and real estate, where he has advised clients on arbitration strategies, risk management, and dispute resolution. His role as co-counsel in several high-profile international arbitrations, particularly involving foreign investments and cross-border transactions, has solidified his reputation as a leading expert in the field.
Earlier in his career, Ritesh worked with Luthra & Luthra Law Offices, where he represented multinational companies in arbitration and litigation. He handled disputes under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act and was involved in high-profile arbitration matters, including those relating to infrastructure projects, foreign investments, and commercial contracts. Ritesh also played a key role in the successful resolution of disputes involving foreign awards and enforcement issues, with a particular focus on cross-border commercial conflicts.
Ritesh graduated in law from ILS Law College, Pune, and is fluent in both English and Hindi. With a strategic approach to litigation and arbitration, Ritesh is recognized as a trusted advisor and leader, committed to achieving favorable legal outcomes for clients while driving the success of the organizations he represents.
