With over 15 years of experience, Laksh brings a strategic and solution oriented approach to litigation and dispute resolution. Over the course of years, he has built an impeccable reputation in the arena of economic offences and white collar crimes by virtue of having successfully represented industry leaders across varied sectors including real estate, banking, pharmaceuticals, food & beverages, media and hospitality.
Laksh began his professional journey in 2010 with the Drafting & Legal Research team at Thomson Reuters Pangea3 and soon thereafter transitioned to criminal litigation by joining the white collar crimes vertical at Karanjawala & Co. Prior to joining Bahuguna Law Associates, Laksh also served as an Additional Public Prosecutor at the Delhi High Court where he represented GNCTD and the Delhi Police in various complex cases involving large scale economic offences, real estate scams, investment frauds, cybercrimes, operation of illegal call centers and matters concerning public safety and national security.
Owing to his dual experience in criminal prosecution as well as defence, Laksh has gained a unique perspective and insight into criminal strategy. Having carved a niche for himself in white-collar crimes, Laksh is regularly involved in high stake litigations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), including cases involving attachment of properties, confirmation or confiscation of attached properties, restoration or release of attached properties, defence of companies or individuals in trials and ancillary proceedings linked to the predicate offence as well as the scheduled offence under PMLA.
Over the years, Laksh has also contributed to cases of great public eminence relating to the jurisdiction of designated MP/MLA Courts, Parliament attack case, formulation of compensation guidelines for children who are victims of sexual assault, creation of the Avlamban Fund for the survivors of acid attack, interpretative issues relating to the prohibitive framework of the drug laws in India and many other significant cases which have help shape up the criminal jurisprudence in the recent years.
Recognized for his work in the field of criminal law, Laksh has been appointed Amicus Curiae by the Delhi High Court in multiple cases and has received appreciation from the Court for his assistance. He has been appointed as an Arbitrator by the Delhi High Court on various occasions and has several reported judgments to his credit. Laksh is also a Counsel for the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee, through which he regularly provides high quality legal aid to the underserved communities.
